AN: //// is change in Point of view.
Ember's was a little dizzy when she opened her eye and sat up. Through the lightheaded moments, she could tell she was in a dark room, lying in, what could be considered a bed. It was more of a metal table with a thin covering on it. There were more of these 'beds' lining the walls, but no Tata Jaga. The only light available was a dim glow of starlight and strange lights on poles that Ember had never seen before.
Ember tried to stand up, when everything went hazy for a minute. Reaching up, Ember could feel a soft bum through the thick and heavy bandage on her head. It still hurt a tiny bit. She let the wave pass, then slowly made her way to a large door sized opening at the front of the room.
Ember wandered the hallway looking for some sign of life. She came to another dimly lit room where a strange looking man was hunched over a computer screen. She stood watching the figure for a moment. He looked a little like Keles from Acen.

Selon tapped merrily on the keyboard. The little girl, in the clinic, wasn't badly hurt, except for the concussion. Unfortunately he couldn't save her older male companion, but the little girl was a curiosity. Questions buzzed about Selon's head. WHO WAS SHE? WHERE DID SHE COME FROM? HOW DO WE SEND HER BACK? The ship she had been traveling in was heavily damaged and Prome law forbid contact with other races. Naturally, her staying would be difficult as Prome culture was extremely xenophobic. She was strange and different, all that seemed prime fodder for attacks on her, physically and mentally.
Ember: Crea?
Selon was startled out of his reverie by the small voice. Turning around, he was even more stunned to find the little girl out of bed. She was standing next to his chair staring at him, confusion plain on her face.
Ember: Crea?
Selon was puzzled. He couldn't understand what the little girl was saying and he didn't want to frighten her away. Promes were strongly telepathic, but they kept their abilities in control as to give their friends and neighbors the privacy of their own thought.
///////////////////
Ember was getting a little frustrated. WHY WASN'T THIS GUY RESPONDING TO HER? Ember frowned, looking to the floor, she turned to leave when he grabbed her arm. The motion only surprised Ember for a minute, before a soft soothing voice spoke to her, one she could understand.
Selon: I will not hurt you. I couldn't understand your language. Please forgive this intrusion.
Ember: It's OK. Who are you? Where am I? Where is Tata Jaga?
Selon: I am Selon. You are on Prome. If you meant your older companion, he didn't survive the trip.
The answer to her last question caused Ember to pull away, suddenly, only to collapse on the floor due to her injuries. Selon said nothing, merely picked up the sobbing child to return her to her bed to rest and prepare for her new life.
