Everybody Loves Masty was written and produced for Masty and broadcast to a live zombie Internet audience.
Masty is a well known and popular fanfic writer. He lives with his wife Azat across the street from his parents, Frank and Capler. Masty's Brother, Dev, lives in an apartment over Frank and Capler's garage. Dev is a Sergeant in the Army national guard. Capler is overbearing and obsessed with her Masty, causing Azat much grief, by constantly criticizing Azat in her efforts to be a wife and mother to Masty and their children. Dev, has always been jealous of the attention Capler lavished on Masty. Masty is the center of everybody's universe. Frank loves his family, but can be gruff in his treatment of them.
We open the scene with Azat pouring Orange Soda into some cups, in preparation for Masty's Birthday Party. Masty was being distracted by Frank and Dev, Masty's father and brother. The party was supposed to be a surprise. Azat convinced Dev and Frank to take Masty to the MarioKarts, to get him out of the house so she could prepare. It would be a small party with just the family.
A box of Red Velvet Cake mix was sitting on the kitchen counter. With the Orange Soda poured, Azat preheats the oven to 350 degrees, pulls out eggs, measuring cups, pans, and precedes to mix and bake Masty's Birthday Cake. The room was warm and smelling good, so Azat decided to sit down for a few minutes, to have a glass of booze, while the cake was baking. Capler, Masty's mother, bursts into the house, with a Red Velvet Cake that was obviously made from scratch.
Azat: Capler!?! What are you doing with that cake?!? I just put Masty's cake in the oven!!!
Capler: (putting her cake on the counter, and picking up the empty cake mix box.) Oh, Honey. Mixes are never as good as from scratch. We can give your cake to the kids.
Azat facepalms as the oven timer rings, signaling the time to take the cake out to cool a bit, before spreading frosting from a can on the spongy cake. Capler was fishing around in a cupboard, for matches and 20 candles for Masty's Birthday cake. Finding the candles, Capler places them on the cake she brought.
Frank marches into the family room, with scowling Masty and Dev following.
Frank: HEY, CAP!!! ARE YOU HERE?!? I'M HERE WITH OUR DAUGHTERS!!!
Dev: Funny, dad.
Masty: I still say you cheated.
Frank: (Sitting in an old recliner.) Whatever you say, "Misty."
Hearing the guys, Capler goes to greet her husband and sons.
Capler: (Hugs and Kisses, Masty.) How is my birthday boy?
Dev: (reaches out to hug Capler gets nothing.) Hi, mom.
Masty: (wiping his cheek) Ma, yuck. I'm 20, now. By the way, have you seen Azat?
Azat: (from doorway, holding a red velvet cake with 20 lit birthday candles in it.) I'M HERE, MASTY!!!
Masty: well, well, well... What's this? Red Velvet Cake? I LOVE RED VELVET CAKE!! <3
Azat: (Places cake on dining room table.) Why don't you blow the candles out, Masty?
Dev: (shuffles next to Masty) Make a wish.
Masty inhales deeply, and bends over to blow out the candles.
Frank: (moving to a chair just opposite the cake, tying a napkin around his neck, grabbing a knife and fork, banging them on the table.) Cake Now.
Capler: (placing a piece of cake on a plate) Masty, gets the first piece. It's his birthday.
Dev: (grumbling) of course, Masty goes first. He always goes first.
Capler: What's that, Dev? (Placing a slice in front of him.)
Dev: Nothing, Ma. (takes a bite) Mmmmm, good cake.
Capler, finally, serves herself. Sitting down, she daintily picks up a fork. Capler samples the sweet, gooey, treat. Suddenly, Capler jumps from the table, and rushes into the kitchen. A few minutes later, the back door slams shut.
Masty: What's with Ma?
Azat: (smiles innocently) Not sure, maybe she's cutting down on her sweets.
On the kitchen counter, sat another Red Velvet cake, with what appeared to be candle holes in the top. When Capler went to greet the men, Azat moved the candles from Cap's cake to her own. The family was eating a Red Velvet cake from a mix.
Scene Ends.
